Toy Hazards for Small Children
On average, hospital emergency rooms treat a child for toy-related injuries about every three minutes. About 198,000 children suffered injuries caused by their toys in 2020. Another 51 died from injuries caused by toys from 2018 through 2020.
Many toys have hidden dangers that parents often overlook. Some might have small parts or batteries that children might put into their mouth and begin choking. A fluffy toy might cause a child to suffocate. Others might cause blunt-force injuries, cuts, or scrapes.
There are many ways in which a child might suffer a personal injury while playing with a poorly designed toy. An experienced attorney could help you hold manufacturers accountable if your child suffers an injury from a defective toy.
